| Finding the Perfect Crafstmen Also on that first trip I met Graham and Christina, who now operate a small wordworking workshop in East Sussex, and who make many of our quality reproductions. After meeting Graham and Christina I had actually placed a number of quite costly orders with another cabinetmaker, who ended up going into receivership with embezzlement charges to boot. I figured the substantial deposit I had wired, would be a write-off. But no, Graham and Christina got in touch and said they were buying some of the assets of the other failed business, and if I would place the same order with them, they would honor every penny I had wired over! Since then, they have made many of the beautiful reproductions commissioned by Southern Antiques & Interiors. This is a “mom-and-pop” operation with about three craftsmen who love what they do, and a life free of stress. They make furniture for me and a handful of other shops, here and in England. Our agreement stipulates that any piece they make from our original design, remains exclusive to us. These wonderful people don’t advertise their service and don’t go by any company name. We are happy referring to “Our English workshop.” We are very lucky to have them.
